A few days after Ron leaves her, she's kissing Dean behind one of the- hopefully- empty greenhouses.

Ginny dumped him for Harry, and she got sick of coming second to Ron, and really, it's just an excuse to feel good. Better. Dean's hand is warm against the small of her back, and he's more solid than what Ron was.

Ron was always leaving her. For Harry, for Hermione, and she's not sure which one of those hurt worse. Because as angry as she is at Ron- and then, at Hermione-, she's angrier at Harry, for hurting Dean. Who didn't deserve it. She wonders if he even feels bad about, and if she was a little meaner, she'd ask Dean.

Instead, she just lets him pull off her shirt.
