auron/jecht, 224 words
Auron wanted to run. In either direction-towards Jecht, or away from him. Jecht always managed to provoke that reaction in him- Auron didn’t know if he wanted him closer or for Jecht to leave him. Usually, Jecht never gave him a choice in the matter anyway, and Tidus proved that he was just like his father in that respect.
Tidus ran to his father, not noticing that Auron had taken a half step towards Jecht.
He couldn’t leave him.
::::
Jecht grinned, even though Braska was the one to come and embrace him. Auron closed his eyes for a moment, ignoring Jecht. Braska was a welcomed sight- Auron was sure that he was never going to see him again.
“It has been a long time, Auron,” Braska said. Auron didn’t say a word, but he knew that Braska understood.
“I don’t get to say hello to him?” Jecht asked, amusement creeping into his tone.
Braska pulled away from Auron to give Jecht a look. “No,” he answered simply, but moved out of Jecht’s way.
Jecht ignored him, grabbed Auron, and pulled him into a bone crushing hug. Without even thinking about it, Auron wrapped his arms around Jecht’s shoulders, trying to pull him even closer.
“Welcome home,” Jecht said gruffly, and kissed him.
For once, Auron was right where he was supposed to be.
