The fact that all three of them survived surprised them. Harry was sure that his demise was unquestionable, and it went without saying that the two people closest to him were easy targets.
Not that it had been easy. There had been a few days when they weren't sure if Ron was going to wake up, and Hermione had been captured by a group of Death Eaters. Harry didn't talk about what had happened during his fight with Voldemort, but their hands had traced the scars that it had left.
It had been terrifying. Harry knew to keep them close.
