getaway_machine, who wanted happiness for any fandom. Erm, yeah. This is once Anita stops being dumb, so a possible and as close to normal future as she would ever get. Not as fluffy as what it could have been, and thank god for that.
It took Anita a few moments for her senses to adjust to her settings, but before she even opened her eyes she knew she was in the hospital. It was the smell that gave it away, and she grimaced. She was beginning to hate hospitals. It felt like she had spent most of her time in one.
“You know, our dates really have to stop ending like this,” Edward said, his voice sounding both amused and worried. Anita smiled and opened her eyes.
“It’s not a real date anymore Ted, unless it ends in blood, violence and tears,” she said cheerfully.
“Or one of us in the hospital,” he added.
“Or nearly killed,” she finished. Edward smiled softly, and took her hand in his.
“So, are we still on for next Friday?” he asked her.
“Yeah. Can we just stay in? Movies and enough Chinese food for a small army?” Anita asked hopefully.
“Sounds good. I do have an order to complete, so I’ll be a little late,” Edward said as the doctors slowly came into the room.
“Okay,” Anita muttered, yawning. Edward chuckled, and kissed her forehead. Anita gave him another smile, and closed her eyes. She knew that when she woke up again, he would be gone.
That was fine though. Edward always came back.
