g, 144 words
harry potter- sirius/lily
Sirius spends the summer in muggle London.
He doesn't mean to, but on his first day there, he ends up meeting Lily and her family. Her parents are nice enough, and recognize him as a wizard at first glance. Lily's sister on the other hand- she barely glances at him, and when she does, it's full of disgust.
Not that he cares, because when Lily smiles at him, wide and bright, he's not expecting it. In that moment, he knows what James sees in her, and finds that he's looking at exactly the same. He barely realizes that Lily's mother is subtly moving her husband and other daughter away.
"Are you less destructive away from Potter?" she asks, but the laughter in her voice lets him know that she's joking.
"Best behavior, promise," he says.
"Good," she tells him, "Because I'm sort of hungry."

Date: 2007-05-31 04:02 am (UTC)Lily would have found it annoying, except that she found hypocrisy to be one of the worst things anyone could ever be. She strived to not be things she hated.
So, when he asked she answered.
“So, you plug the dohooky in the owllight?” He was pulling his hair back, it was longer than hers now, she sighed heavily and picked up her pace, she was going to be late for Charms.
No. No she wasn’t. Sirius was going to run if he wanted his answer because she loved Charms.
“No, you plug the plug in the outlet!” She said over her shoulder and she dartted off down the corridor.
She wasn’t late for Charms and they took their usual seats. She with Molly and Sirius sat behind James and next to Remus. Not even two minutes in and she was hit in the shoulder with a piece of paper. She ignored it, and then it started to peck at her.
It read:
Then what?
It was signed with a scribbled paw print. She wrote back, “Why not ask Remus, I’m sure he knows.”
She watched out of the corner of her eye as he read it and saw him roll his eyes. She smiled. When the next one hit her she opened it.
“Because you’re prettier than he is.”
She wrote him back, and kept writing him back all summer before she gave in and invited him over so he could see it all for himself.
